Diljit gained popularity and became the face of the farmer’s movement after he publicly came out in support of the farmers agitating against the three new farm laws brought in by the Central Government. He urged the Government to accept the demands of the farmers.
Diljit also urged the media to show the peaceful protests of the farmers without any bloodshed.
He also donated Rs. 1 crore to the protesting farmers to buy warm clothes for them to survive the freezing weather in Delhi.
