Dwayne Johnson, an American actor, has been cast as Krypto the Super-Dog in Warner Bros.’ upcoming DC League of Super-Pets film. DC League of Super-Pets is a fictional squad of super-powered pets in the DC Universe, according to Variety. Krypto the Superdog, Streaky the Supercat, Beppo the Super-Monkey, and Comet the Super-Horse , with the shape-shifting alien Proty II were among the original participants.
The film will be written and directed by Jared Stern, with Sam Levine directing as his first feature film and starring Superman’s best friend. The studio hopes to enlist an A-list ensemble of two- and four-legged heroes and villains, but Dwayne’s co-stars have yet to be cast.
Dwayne Johnson, along with his partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, are producing the film through their company Seven Bucks Productions.
According to Variety, Patricia Hicks, Jared Stern, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, and Nicholas Stoller are executive producing the film, which is focused on DC characters.
The film will be released in theatres on May 20 of next year.
