The Karni Sena has threatened the title of Akshay Kumar’s ambitious project Prithviraj. Chandraparaksh Dwivedi directs the YRF film, which is a biography of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. Surjeet Singh Rathore, the chief of the Karni Sena’s Youth Wing, has set three criteria for the film.
It even threatened Akshay and Aditya Chopra with a predicament akin to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s during Padmaavat if they did not accept their demands. Rathore said in Hindi on his Instagram page, sharing news clippings, that the organisation appreciates Akshay Kumar. He went on to say that producer Aditya Chopra should show respect for the last ‘Hindu Samrat’ and utilise his name appropriately.
Otherwise, he threatened, the results would be the same as they were during the release of Padmaavat. And that YRF will bear the brunt of the losses.
He outlined his three demands, which included a ‘pre-release screening of the film,’ a ‘showing of the film to the Rajput society,’ and the ‘full title of the film — Veer Yoddha Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.’
Surjeet Singh Rathore stated in another post that this film should be used to show the country and the globe Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan’s life. He stated that they honour Akshay Kumar and he would be delighted that he played Prithviraj Chauhan, urging them to include the word “Chauhan” again in the title.
Prithviraj Chauhan, a 12th-century Indian ruler, reigned over present-day Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Akshay Kumar made the news on his birthday in 2019, along with a short teaser for the film.
