Swami Om, who was known for his controversial stint in Bigg Boss 10, passed away on Wednesday at his residence in Ghaziabad. The self-proclaimed godman was undergoing treatment at AIIMS hospital and had been keeping ill for a while. He had earlier tested positive for coronavirus and even after recovering from it, he had reportedly become quite weak.
Swami Om’s friend Mukesh Jain’s son informed the media that he died due to paralysis. “Due to paralysis, half of his body was paralysed,” he added.
Swami Om made headlines with his presence on Bigg Boss 10. Apart from passing nasty remarks and stealing other contestants’ toiletries, he shocked everyone when he threw his pee on co-contestant Bani J during a task. Post the incident, host Salman Khan removed Swami Om from the show. Soon after this, Om went around speaking against Khan and Bigg Boss on numerous occasions. He had even threatened to damage the set along with his followers.
His last rites will be performed in Delhi today.
