Indian skipper Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma welcomed their baby girl about a month ago and recently announced her name as ‘Vamika’. The couple also took to social media and posted a picture with the baby that took the internet by storm. Virat had also taken paternity leave from the India-Australia test series to be with Anushka and welcome the baby.
Now, ahead of India-England test series, Virat had a media interaction where he spoke about his daughter, parenthood and also missing one of the greatest test series. When asked about his thoughts on becoming a dad and missing out on the exciting Border-Gavaskar matches after the first game, Virat shared that becoming a father has been the ‘greatest moment of his life.’
He said that nothing can compromise his love for cricket and his dedication towards his family and his team are two very different things. He also shared that Anushka and he were watching the match when doctor called. He also added that under no circumstance his love for his team can fade.
Speaking about Vamika, the cricketer said: “I don’t think the two can be compared. To me becoming a father has been and will remain the greatest moment in my life. And that is something that has to be experienced to understand what I’m saying. Secondly, the connection to the team does not go away in any situation, especially when you’ve given everything for the team.”
Virat is now all geared up to play against England. Ever since Anushka officially shared Vamika’s photo, netizens have been in awe and good wishes for the little one have been pouring in from across the country.
