India reported 60,471 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, lowest after 75 days, as per the health ministry’s updated data. Total cases now stand at 2,95,70,881, total discharges are 2,82,80,472. Total deaths have climbed to 3,77,031 with 2,726 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The active cases further declined to 9,13,378 comprising 3.09 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 95.64 per cent.
A net decline of 59,780 cases has been recorded in the Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
Total samples tested up to June 14, 2021 are 38,13,75,984 as against samples tested on June 14 which are 17,51,358, according to ICMR.
Meanwhile, many states have begun the process of unlocking. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra are among the major states where gradual unlocking has started amid Covid restrictions. States like West Bengal, Haryana, Karnataka have eased lockdown restrictions and allowed more activities in their states.
