Delhi’s Gurdwara Bangla Sahib has launched a unique initiative.
The country cheapest diagnostics facility will function from Guru Harkrishan Polyclinic on gurdwara premises starting December.
A dialysis unit has also been set up on the premises that will start operation in October.
Diagnostic machines worth Rs 6cr have been donated to the hospital.
These include four dialysis machines and a machine each for ultrasound, X-Ray and MRI.
The services will be offered to the needy at reduced rates.
An MRI costs at least Rs 2,500 in private laboratories.
But here, the services will be available to the needy for just Rs 50.
Others can avail an MRI scan for Rs 800.
Similarly, a dialysis procedure here will cost only Rs 600.
Dr Pawan Deep Singh said: “The whole idea was to serve poor people”.
