As Jammu and Kashmir witnesses heavy snowfall, the residents of region are using the opportunity to showcase their unique talents. Clad in traditional winter clothes, a video of village urchins doing a ramp walk is now breaking the internet in the Valley.
The video, apparently shot in Gilgit-Baltistan on the other side of Line of Control, features a group of boys covered in blankets with one carrying a kerosene lantern — something that symbolizes the power outages during the winter.
He is then followed by another boy carrying a shovel symbolizing the snow clearance during winter.
The boys can be seen walking the ramp on a famous Bollywood song “…fashion ka hai ye jalwa” from the 2008 Madhur Bhandarkar movie ‘Fashion’. The video, widely shared on social media platforms, was used by netizens to mock actor Kangana Ranaut who has grabbed much attention in the media industry lately.
Taking a jibe at Kangana, a user asked viewers to identify Kangana (in the video) as he commented “Identify Kangana RUNOUT”. While another user said, “Tag Kangana also”.
However, the showstopper was a little kid who wore an oversize coat walking the ramp and posing like a pro. Some even imitated professional models trying to walk elegantly.
The video has garnered over 30,000 views, along with 896 likes and over 130 comments. While the event hit the internet, some even pointed out that traditional kangri and pheran, which are important tools for people to keep themselves warm, are missing.
