One among two persons shot at by a theatre owner over a land dispute has succumbed to his injuries.
The firing took place at Tamil Nadu’s Palani on Monday.
Valluvar Theatre owner Natarajan and farmer Ilangovan had been engaged in a property dispute for years.
They even approached a court a few years back, which ruled in Ilangovan’s favour.
On Monday, he cleared the place to start construction work.
Soon, Natarajan reached the spot and a verbal altercation ensued.
He then took out his licensed revolver and opened fire, injuring Ilangovan’s relatives.
The whole incident was captured by a CCTV camera nearby.
Both Subramani and Palanisaami were rushed to hospital.
However, 60-year-old Subramani succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Police have arrested and booked Natarajan under murder charges.
A probe is underway.
