6 test +ve for new Covid strain: India has reported its first six cases of the new coronavirus strain. A total of 6 samples of UK returnees were found to be positive with the new variant. Three samples were found to be positive at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, two in CCMB, Hyderabad, and one in NIV, Pune. All the six people have been kept in single room isolation.
1561 mobile towers damaged in Punjab: The Punjab government has said 1,561 mobile towers have been “impacted” in the state during the farmers’ protests. Chief minister Amarinder Singh directed police to take strict action against vandalisation and disruption of telecom services.
