Amy Schumer, the comedian and actress recently posted a nude selfie of hers on Instagram to appreciate her postpartum body. She gave birth to her son Gene in 2019. The actress posted a mirror selfie where she is seen naked as jaybird. In the photo, her C- section scar is clearly visible.
The comedian was lauded for her bold gesture, many of her fans including women along with Vanessa Carlton, the American singer and song writer with similar scars, appreciated her confident move. The singer wrote: “Feel like mine lookin’ hot today too! What a coincidence!”.Amy captioned the photo as “Feeling like my C-section looks cute today ! #hotgirlwinter #csection [sic]”
A fan wrote in the comment section of her photo, “Beautiful body!💕🌱” . Another commented “I need to love my c-section more. 🙏♥️”. The most heartening comment read: “Every scar has a story,” a commenter added. “I love all of mine ❤️❤️❤️ stories of survival and life.”
The actress suffered from hyperemesis due to which she resorted to do IVF to conceive Gene. In an interview given to a podcast she stated: “I, for my safety, cannot be pregnant again. One in three mothers with hyperemesis, what I had, one in three babies don’t make it.”
She added: “So I really don’t like those odds. Just because you’re vomiting so much you can’t nourish your baby or yourself, so my pregnancy was a huge bummer.”
The Grammy winner went on to compare her C-section recovery to torture. She said: “I was throwing up through the first hour of my C-section. It’s supposed to take about an hour and a half — mine took over three hours because of my endometriosis.” She also said: “It was kind of brutal… But Chris was so great — we just stared in each other’s eyes and he just held me there. Then they let me hold Gene for a good amount of time. I got to see him and hold him.” But surprisingly it came as a blessing in disguise for her as she gave birth to Gene and her hyperemesis condition vanished.
Schumer married Chris Fischer in the year of 2018 and in the same year in October she broke the news of her pregnancy.
