- BJP ramps up Bengal poll strategy: As the BJP ramps up its strategy in poll-bound West Bengal, Union home minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda will visit the state separately every month to boost the morale of workers until the Assembly election that is due early next year.
- Centre steps in to rein in Delhi Covid count: Following home minister Amit Shah’s meeting with key stakeholders in the wake of rising Covid cases in Delhi and the daily death toll touching almost 100, the Centre has announced a slew of measures in a bid to contain the spread of the infection. These include increasing the testing capacity in the national capital to 60,000 RT-PCR tests a day, completing house-to-house survey by November 25 and doubling of ICU beds among others.

- Vijayanagara to be K’taka’s 31st district: The Karnataka cabinet has approved the proposal to form the state’s 31st district – Vijayanagara, which will be carved out of Ballari district in the northern part of the state. The decision is a major boost for forest minister Anand Singh who has championed the campaign for a new Vijayanagara district.
