In a new turn of events, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has lodged a complaint against Bollywood actor Sonu Sood allegedly for illegally converting a building.
In its complaint, the BMC alleged that the actor has converted a residential building in upscale Juhu into a hotel without necessary permission.
The civil body has also urged the Juhu police to take cognisance of the offence under the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning Act.
The officials have alleged that the actor was served a notice but however continued the “unauthorised development”.
“It has been found that Sonu Sood has instituted/commenced/under/carried out development or changed the user of land. Unauthorised addition/alterations beyond the approved plan and unauthorised change of user from residential to residential hotel building without taking technical sanction from competent authority,” the complaint read.
Taking a jibe at the ruling Shiv Sena government, BJP leader Ram Kadam said Sonu Sood was just another target of the government.
Taking to Twitter he said: “Another vendetta politics by Shiv Sena? This complaint against social worker and actor Sonu Sood seems politically motivated. We saw how this Maharashtra government attacked and targeted Kangana Ranaut. Shiv Sena was always against Sonu Sood’s humanitarian work.”
Actor Sonu Sood has, however, denied the allegations as he claimed that all necessary permissions were sought and was awaiting clearance from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority.
This comes after the BMC had in last September demolished parts of actor Kangana Ranaut’s bungalow for alleged “unauthorised” construction.
Preliminary investigations are being carried out by the police and an FIR would be registered later, said Abhishek Trimukhe, DCP, Zone 9.
