According to sources, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan will play Sita in Alaukik Desai’s upcoming film, Ramayana, which is claimed to be a Bollywood adaptation of the Hindu classic. There have also been reports that the actress has asked for a large fee to play the role. According to reports, the Jab We Met actress has increased her remuneration for this part, demanding Rs 12 crore. The Twitterati urged that the actress from Good Newwz be boycotted. They also claimed that Kareena is infringing on their religious sensibilities by demanding too much for her role as Sita in the film, which they described as “against humanity.” On Twitter, the hashtag #BoycottKareenaKhan is trending, with fans condemning the actress.
One of the users tweeted, “Remember the way she arrogantly replied to the public that it’s you idiots who make us star, Don’t watch my films, I don’t care. Let’s not watch such unworthy people. She playing in the mythological film is disgusting #BoycottKareenaKhan.” Another said, “This role cannot be played by an actress who doesn’t respect Hindu God’s. #BoycottKareenaKhan.” “She doesn’t deserve to play the role of Mata Sita! So We just #BoycottKareenaKhan!” reads another tweet.
The directors of Sita approached the Veere Di Wedding star, according to Bollywood Hungama. “Kareena, who typically demands for INR 6-8 crore for films, has quoted an amount of INR 12 crore, which has put the filmmakers in a tizzy,” a person close to the development told the news page. In fact, they are currently reconsidering their choice and are in discussion to bring the picture to a younger actress but Kareena still remains the first choice.”
