India recorded 173,790 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest daily count in 46 days, as infections continued to decrease in the country, according to the data by the Union health ministry on May 29 morning.
According to the same data, 2,84,601 patients recovered during last 24 hours, total of 2,51,78,011 recoveries reported across the country so far. Recovery rate increases to 90.80%. A total of 34,11,19,909 samples tested up to 28 May. Of which, 20,80,048 samples tested in last 24 hours, said the Indian Council of Medical Research.
The six most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (5,692,920), Karnataka (2,546,821), Kerala (2,470,872), Tamil Nadu (2,009,700), Uttar Pradesh (1,686,267), and Andhra Pradesh (1,657,986).
According to the Union health ministry, with 1.73 lakh daily new cases, a declining trend in new cases is maintained. Active caseload further declines to 22,28,724 with active cases decrease by 1,14,428 in the last 24 hours.
