On the third day of India’s intra-squad match simulation in Southampton, Ravindra Jadeja hit an unbeaten half-century. In the practise game, the seasoned all-rounder made 54 runs off 74 balls. The Virat Kohli-led Indian squad is working hard to acclimate to the English conditions ahead of the much-anticipated ICC World Test Championship final. The team is preparing to face New Zealand in a high-octane match that will begin on Friday at the Ageas Bowl.
“@imjadeja gets to his half-century (54* off 76) as play on Day 3 of the intra-squad match simulation comes to end. @mdsirajofficial is amongst wickets with figures of 2/22,” the BCCI tweeted. Check out their tweet below:
On Sunday, the BCCI released a video clip that included various highlights from Day 3. On the second day of the practise game, Jadeja was spotted playing a brilliant cover drive off Ishant Sharma, who had taken three wickets. Mohammed Siraj, a young pacer, too had a great day with the ball. The Hyderabad speedster finished with a 2 for 22 record. The right-handed fast has been in excellent form, which complicates squad selection for the WTC final. While Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are practically expected to win the nod, Ishant and Siraj will compete for the third berth.
