Beautifully blending the future and the past, the green Lamborghini shows a slice of the aesthetic culture of Kerala that vroom through the paddy field, a temple, art forms, untarred roads and traditional households while it amazes the curious onlookers.
The new promotional campaign- The Meeting Place- of inexperienced Lamborghini Huracan EVO features a film by Vimal Chandran and cinematographer Sharan Velayudhan that throws a glimpse of the rich heritage of Kerala, the land of culture and art.
The global photography and art project- The Meeting Place was a part of ‘With Italy, For Italy’.
After Italy was hit by the ensuing Covid-19 pandemic, the company had launched project, that saw participation of 20 photographers who covered 20 regions across the country capturing the scenery, art, history and more.
The project focuses on creating a meeting place for the past and the future.
The short film shot by Vimal features a green Lamborghini, a futuristic object, driving through the rural space intact from urbanization. The film shot in Pattambi in Palakkad district, is set against the culture and folklore of the region. There is Poothan and Thira, a ritualistic art form from South Malabar region and Darika, a demon, and Kali, characters from Mudiyettu, a ritualistic dance form that enacts the battle between the two.
Explaining how the concept of art did connect with Italy, Vimal said: “We chose Kerala for the project because Muziris Port in the state has had trade relations with several countries, including Italy.”
“Although the project was meant to have photographs and art work, we made the film because we wanted to tell the story behind the concept,” he added.
The video was launched on Lamborghini’s social media page.
