- CAA rules being framed, will be implemented soon: JP Nadda BJP national president JP Nadda Monday said the execution of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act has been delayed due to the pandemic and asserted the law will be implemented soon. Nadda, who was speaking at a meeting of social groups of north Bengal, accused the Mamata Banerjee government of indulging in “divide and rule politics” in the state.
- Chouhan leads BJP leaders in silent protest against Kamal Nath: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia held “silent protests” against former CM Kamal Nath after he referred to BJP minister Imarti Devi as an “item”. While Chouhan held a two-hour protest in Bhopal, Scindia and other party members protested in Indore.
- Calcutta HC makes Durga puja pandals ‘no-entry’ zones: All Durga Puja pandals in West Bengal have virtually been declared no-entry zones by Calcutta High Court which ordered a ban on pandal hopping due to the spread of the coronavirus. Only organisers can enter the pandals and the names of those allowed entry have to be displayed outside it, the high court order said.

The bench gave the last opportunity to the Union government to file a statement of objections and posted the matter to November 10.
