India is all set to produce a musical on an Indian princess who went on to become a South Korean queen.
According to legend, Princess Suriratna went to Korea in 48 AD and married King Kim Suro of Geumgwan Gaya.
The Ayodhya princess is well known today as Queen Heo Hwang-ok.
The royal couple had 10 sons.
Two of their sons took the queen’s surname, which is used even today.
It is believed all South Koreans who have the surname Heo are her descendants.
Her story will also be part of a book being planned by Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
It will showcase millennia-old people-to-people connections between India and countries across the world.
