Bill and Melinda Gates’ daughter, Jennifer Gates, has said that the family has been going through “a difficult period.” Her parents have declared their separation after a 27-year marriage, according to the release.
“I’m also learning how to better help my own method and feelings as well as my family members at this time and am thankful for the spa,” Jennifer Gates wrote on Instagram.
“I won’t publicly comment more on anything about the split,” the 25-year-old said, refusing to comment on the divorce. “But please know that your kind words and support mean the world to me.”
She went on to say, “Thank you for respecting our need for privacy as we navigate the next phases of our lives.”
Jennifer is a second-year medical student and equestrian. The oldest of the couple’s three children is the tech heiress. Rory, her brother, and Phoebe, her sister, are her siblings.
Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology from Stanford University in 2018. She then took a year off to concentrate on her equestrian career before enrolling at New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s Icahn School of Medicine.
