Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi’s recent action-packed thriller, ‘Master’ gathered astonishing reaction from movie buffs down south amidst the pandemic. The film was released on January 13, 2021 and created an extraordinary record at the box-office by earning Rs 40 crore on day one.
As per reports by Pinkvilla, ‘Master’ is all set to be remade in Hindi. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film will now be produced in Hindi by ‘Kabir Singh’ director Murad Khetani along with Endemol Shine. The paperwork for buying the rights of the film is said to be done but fans may still have to wait for some time before an official announcement is made.
According to sources, the rights have been bought for a hefty amount as Bollywood fans await in anticipation to watch the film on the silver screen. “Around two weeks back, Murad along with the team of Endemol visited Chennai for a special screening of Master, after coordinating with the producers of Tamil original. They loved the film and decided to bankroll it in Hindi. This meeting led to paperwork and the producers now officially have the Hindi remake rights under their kitty. They have bagged the rights for a hefty sum,” a source from South told Pinkvilla.
The producers are currently deciding on who will direct the Hindi remake. “Like Tamil, Murad and co are planning to cast two top stars from Bollywood for the Hindi remake as well. However, they will start approaching the actors on having a director on board. Be assured, this will be among the biggest casting coups in recent times,” the source added. The shooting is expected to commence from the third quarter of the year but more clarity on the film will be possible once the actors, director and other crew members are decided. Film enthusiasts had pinned their hopes on ‘Master’ and it has successfully entertained the audience.
