A man makes an extreme effort to ease his wife’s arduous task. Concerned about his wife fetching water from a hand-pump after walking for half-a-kilometre, Bharat Singh decided to ease her woes.
The 46-year-old took a challenge and to everyone’s surprise, he dug a 31-foot deep and 6-foot wide well on his house premises.
This comes after his wife had returned home empty-handed with utmost disappointment as the hand-pump has broken down.
When Singh proposed the idea to his wife Sushila, she laughed at him. Singh, who hails from Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, took just 15 days to dig the well.
Singh’s dedication was praised by the local authorities, who extended the benefits of some government schemes.
The well has enough water to cater to the needs of the family and also for the irrigation of his small tract of land.
District collector Kumar Purshottam appreciated Singh and also directed officials of the zilla panchayat to provide benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other government schemes.
