Zomato has found itself in the middle of yet another controversy.
It started with Swara Bhasker tweeting the food delivery giant’s ads were displayed on Republic TV.
Calling herself a loyal customer, the actor said she wasn’t okay with her “money even indirectly funding this kind of communal bigoted hate”.
Zomato responded by saying it doesn’t endorse any content except its own.
It added “we are looking into this”.
The response resulted in “boycottzomato” trending on social media.
Netizens were also quick to target the actor.
Tweeples shared videos of uninstalling Zomato app or cancelling its Gold subscription.
However, this is not the first time Zomato has stirred controversy.
Last year, it triggered social media protests for its “food has no religion” campaign.
