- Oppo spreading lies on farm laws: PM: In an interaction with farmers of six states on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Opposition for “pushing a political agenda” by “spreading myths and lies” over the new farm laws.
- PM Modi to launch AB-PMJAY: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. The scheme will benefit as many as 21 lakh eligible people on the basis of Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011.
- MP Govt to table ‘love jihad’ bill: Ensuring alimony for women forced into marriage for the purpose of religious conversion and a provision to declare such marriages null and void will be part of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom to Religion Bill, 2020, which is all set to be discussed in a special Cabinet session on Saturday.
- High-speed internet ban extended in J&K till Jan 8: The Jammu and Kashmir administration extended the high-speed internet ban across the union territory with exception of Udhampur and Ganderbal districts till January 8 . The government has reasoned the recently concluded District Development Council polls for continued suspension of high speed internet.
- AAI seeks land for vaccine distribution: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is close to finalising an arrangement with the Indian Air Force to receive 2.5 acres of land adjacent to Pune airport, to be utilised for the transport of vaccines from the facilities of vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India nearby.
- India, Vietnam to conduct naval exercise: An Indian Navy warship will undertake a “passage exercise” with the Vietnamese Navy in the South China Sea from December 26 to 27 as part of efforts to boost maritime cooperation between the two countries.
- Indian expats stranded in UAE get free accommodation, food: Nearly 300 expats, mostly from India, who were stranded in the UAE have been provided free accommodation and food. They were stranded after Saudi Arabia and Kuwait closed their borders in order to prevent spread of the new mutated strain of Covid-19 that is spreading rapidly in the United Kingdom.

- 10 UK returnees tests Covid positive in K’taka: Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar on Friday said so far 10 people who have come to the state from the UK have tested positive for COVID-19 and their samples have been sent for genetic sequencing to find out whether it is a new strain of virus that has infected them.
