Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the “sabka” budget presented in the Parliament by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has farmers and rural India at its heart.
Modi said the focus of the budget was on ease of living, ease of doing business, health, and the wealth. He was addressing the nation after the presentation of the budget.
On the other hand, the number of announcements for healthcare, auto and infra gave a fillip to the stock market as benchmark indices surged over 4% after the finance minister concluded her budget speech. The market was also relieved as the government avoided any extra cess or increase in Securities Transaction Tax. The market men made Rs 5.2 lakh crore during the day, as BSE market cap rose to Rs 191.32 lakh crore during the day.
In his speech, PM Narendra Modi said the budget 2021 has been presented amid unprecedented circumstances. The budget reflects India’s confidence and will boost the country’s self-confidence in the world.
“Today’s Budget shows India’s confidence and will instill self-confidence in the world. The Budget has the vision of self-reliance and features every section of the society,” Modi said.
“Budget has a special focus on strengthening agriculture sector, boosting farmers’ income, villages and farmers are at its heart. The budget has provisions for further strengthening APMC mandis through Agri Infrastructure fund. The budget shows that villages and farmers are at the core of it,” PM Modi said.
“The government, while keeping in sync with fiscal sustainability, stressed on increasing the budget size, and did not put pressure on the citizens. Our government has always tried to keep the budget transparent,” Modi said.
“The budget aims to widen new opportunities for growth, new openings for youth, new high to human resources. This budget will bring several positive changes for individuals, investors, industry and infrastructure sector. It’s a pro-active budget that gives boost to wealth as well as wellness,” the prime minister said.
