Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared the first glimpse of his new movie ‘D Company’. The Indian film director declared that ‘the movie will be the mother of all gangster films’. He is a maestro in crime and thriller genre. RGV movies are a stroke of genius. He took to Twitter to make the announcement of his dream project. “D COMPANY is going to be the MOTHER of all GANGSTER films because it will tell the story of the FATHER of GANGSTERISM whose name is DAWOOD IBRAHIM,” he tweeted.
The 58 -year old also shared the first look which is the teaser of the movie. Sharing the film’s first look, he wrote: “Here’s A PEEK into D COMPANY First Look TEASER: The MAHABHARAT OF UNDERWORLD ..Produced by SPARK @SparkSagar1 it is going to tell the story of how DAWOOD IBRAHIM with his BILL GATES like vision, turned a street gang into an INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION.”
The movie is along the lines of the previous film ‘Company’, which was released in 2002. The plot of the movie is based on the Mumbai based-D Company, spearheaded by Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar. Along with Dawood, the film will also features the fables of other gangsters who thrived under the cover of D-Company.
The film is slated to be released in several languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Actor Ritesh Deshmukh was full of praises for the director and commented “You are truly the master of this genre!!! Can’t wait Sir!!!!”.
Varma has researched extensively for almost about 20 yrs to gather the minutest of details and to craft the plot in a mesmerising way. He has went around interacting with people who are in close knit with gangsters from criminals to politicians to cops to film stars. The movie captures the powerful underworld nexus which exists in India. The director has carved a career out of gangster movies.
