The Fukrey actress’ forthcoming movie has run into controversy since its trailer was launched on January 5, this year. The trailer received severe backlash on social media as the poster portrayed Richa holding a broom signifying the Dalit community.
Reportedly, she is now receiving death threats for the same. To this, Richa reacted by saying that she isn’t scared. Politician Nawab Satpal Tanwar, founder of Akhil Bhartiya Bhim Sena, is apparently posting videos and photos to incite hatred and aggression against the actor and her film.
Tanwar has publicly issued death threats and plans to reward the person who can cut off Richa’s tongue. On the other side, Bhim Army has cleared the air about the alleged confusion with Tomar’s Bhim Sena. The former is a Dalit Party which has a nationalist appeal and is in strong support of the movie and Richa.
Swara Bhaskar passed critical remarks by tweeting , “This is absolutely shameful & to be condemned in no uncertain terms. You can have ideological issues & problems with a film but this is criminal intimidation & incitement to violence. Ambedkarites, Dalit feminists & just sane people – stand up & call this out! @RichaChadha #NotOk.”
