Bengali film actor-turned-politician Nusrat Jahan, a Lok Sabha MP from Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamul Congress, is making headlines yet again as rumours are rife that her marriage with businessman Nikhil Jain is in trouble and that they are going through a rough patch.
According to reports, the actor-turned-politician’s closeness to her SOS Kolkata co-star Yash Dasgupta has raised the eyebrows of many who are now assuming that the husband-wife duo are not in the best of terms.
Now, in her latest interview, Nusrat categorically refused to talk about anything from her personal life and said: “The affairs of my private life are not for the public. People have always put me on trial. But this time, I am not going to comment. People can only judge me for my work as an actor and nothing else. Be it good, bad or ugly, it is my personal life and I am not going to share it with anyone.”
Reportedly, Nusrat and Yash Dasgupta also took a trip to Rajasthan recently for the New Year. Her co-star Yash also reacted to these rumours and said he has no idea about what’s going on in her personal life with husband Nikhil and refrained from saying anything about going to Rajasthan with her.
The actor then added that he goes on road trips every year and this time he went to Rajasthan as anyone can make a trip there. The duo also posted pictures on their social media accounts from their trip and also commented on each other’s posts.
Notably, after dating each other, Nusrat and Nikhil tied the knot in June 2019. The two got married in a private ceremony in Turkey in presence of very close relatives and friends. Later, they hosted a reception in Kolkata, which was attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Tollywood personalities.
After her marriage, a fatwa was also issued against her for being ‘un-Islamic’.
