Reports of filmmaker Siddharth Anand’s alleged assault on an assistant on the set of Pathan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham seems to be not true.
A source close to the production unit rubbished the rumours and added that the shooting was not stalled due to the above stated buzz. He called the reports ‘absolutely baseless and untrue’, and said: “Sid and his team share a bond beyond years and they all look up to him as their big brother. The truth of the matter is that a light man was slightly injured while doing his job and he was being tended to. Thankfully, it wasn’t serious. But a junior artist was taking a video of the incident with an ulterior motive to circulate it.”
Siddharth requested the junior artist to immediately stop recording as it is ‘highly insensitive’, he claimed. The source was also quoted as saying: “However, he was slyly trying to do the same again. That’s when the director, as the leader of the team, sternly asked him to hand over his mobile phone and exit the set. Sid was upset that someone can be so insensitive. The junior artist, however, tried to become aggressive and the security immediately escorted him out of the sets. That’s the plain truth. Nobody got physical on the sets and there certainly was no slapping. It is utterly incorrect.”
As per an earlier report, Siddharth lost his cool when he noticed an assistant using his phone in between the shoot. Following this, the director asked him to avoid this. The assistant then started abusing Siddharth which angered the director further and he slapped the assistant. This resulted in a major fight and the duo came to blows as a result of which the shooting had to be stalled.
Pathan is an action drama which marks SRK’s return to Bollywood after a two year break. His last film was Zero in 2018.
