Tear gas fired at farmers: Farmers from Punjab who are marching towards Delhi to protest against the central government’s farm laws have had faced numerous hurdles, including police barriers, tear gas and water cannons. Amid the mounting tension at various places along the Haryana border in Punjab, Haryana police has issued an advisory against travelling through entry points to Delhi on National Highway 10 and National Highway 44.
Rajnath calls for talks: As thousands of farmers from Haryana and Punjab took over national and state highways leading to Delhi on Thursday, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Rajnath Singh appealed for calm and invited them for talks.
