In a horrific incident, a youth, riding pillion on a motorbike, was killed as his friend riding the bike tried to evade a forest checkpost during the ongoing lockdown in Telangana’s Mancherial district.
The accident, which was caught on a CCTV camera at a forest department checkpost, occurred on May 22. In the footage, a forest department officer can be seen standing at a checkpost. Seeing the speeding bike heading towards the checkpost, the policeman raises his hand urging the rider to slow down. Despite the officer’s desperate signals, the biker continues to speed towards the checkpost.
The rider managed to bend and get through the barricade but the pillion rider’s head rammed into the barricade and he fell off the bike immediately. He succumbed to the head injury on the spot.
The youth riding the vehicle did not bother to stop and check on his friend. He sped away as the forest officers deployed there were shocked.
According to media report, the rider of the bike has been identified as Bandi Chandrasekhar and he is a native of the Patha Kommugudem village in Luxettipet mandal. A complaint was filed by Goud’s father Malla following which a case has been registered against Chandrasekhar under section 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
