Sophisticated technology has brought some drastic changes in people’s life. The development in Virtual Reality(VR) has even changed the way we look and communicate.
We have come across characters come alive on screens through VR, but more than anything else, the power of VR to create ‘reality’ and ‘reunite’ people to their loved ones is unimaginable.
Recently a heart touching video of a man breaking down after meeting his deceased wife with the help of Virtual Reality has surfaced.
The emotional moment of weeping man was captured on the show hosted by TV documentary – ‘Meeting You’ from South Korean, creating VR experiences to allow the grieving family to once again unite with their loved ones who have passed away.
Kim Jung-soo featured in the documentary captures moments he spent with his wife, who had passed away after years of battling with the serious illness.
The video, widely shared on social media, shows the husband holding his wife’s hands and dancing even as he broke down. After a while, he starts crying while continuing to dance slowly.
It took over six months to prepare for the couple’s reunion as the producers of the documentary had to recreate various interaction movements of the late wife’s voice.
To give it a realistic experience, an actor was also hired for voice phishing who had to make her sound like Kim’s wife.
Kim’s only wish was to “just see [his] wife’s shadow, one more time”.
Recollecting the precious moment between her father and mother, Kim’s Jong-yun says, “He would kiss her from time to time when working, when eating, or when watching TV. Even when my mother was sick and lost her hair, my father would say that she was pretty and carried her around.”
Earlier, this advanced technology was used to reunite a mother to his deceased son.
