The Uttar Pradesh government will commence the “Mission June” vaccination campaign on Tuesday, with the goal of inoculating over one crore individuals in the state against Covid-19 in the next 30 days.
A specific vaccination drive for drivers, merchants, and rickshaw pullers will be held across the state starting June 15 as part of the campaign, as they deal with many people on a regular basis. “Our goal is to give vaccine shots to one crore people in the month of June. We have a sufficient amount of vaccine vials available to meet the target,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.
The CM also urged health officials to be in close contact with the central government and vaccine production companies so that there is no gap in vaccine supply. To reach the goal, the state administration plans to open 6,000 vaccination clinics around the state.
Officials have been directed to ensure that all members of society, particularly those who are socially and economically disadvantaged, are immunised in a timely and painless manner.
