In a bizarre incident, Canadian woman tried to evade Covid-19 restrictions by ‘walking’ her husband on a leash. Both the husband and wife were fined $1500 (Rs 1,09,934) each. This rare view of a man wearing the leash has created a buzz online.
The incident took place in Canada’s Quebec city on Saturday when the woman was caught walking her husband on a leash by the cops around 9pm.
Amid the surging Covid-19 cases, the Quebec premier Francois Legault has impose a curfew after 8pm across the city.
Upon being interrogated, the woman claimed that she did not break the curfew norms and explained that she was allowed to walk for 1km from her house to walk her dog. However, when the cops ask that her husband was not a dog, the woman protested.
“When question by police, the couple said they were happy to receive the ticket and claimed they were following the rules set forth by Premier Francois Legault,” a report stated.
When the couple did not cooperate with the officials, they were asked to pay the fine, which however the woman refused to pay.
Quebec has reported more than 2,500 coronavirus cases per day. In a bid to curb the spiralling cases, the province had imposed curfew from 8pm to 5am. The authorities had extended the existing lockdown norms in effect until February 8.
