The driver of a delivery company, Just Eat, ate the customer’s meal outside her house after cancelling the order in Kentish Town, London, recently. The customer and her brother filmed the whole video of the driver consuming rice. The video went viral and quickly made its way to other social media sites as well. In Kentish Town, London, the client and his sister caught on camera how her delivery boy was enjoying the food while sitting right outside her house.
The video was shared by her brother CJ on Twitter. “Yo Just Eat my sister ordered McDonald’s on your site yesterday from Kentish Town McDonalds. The driver cancelled the order, sat outside her house, and ate the food?” CJ wrote while posting the video.
The delivery company ‘Just Eat’ responded to the incident with an official statement, as reported by The Sun UK. “At Just Eat we’re committed to providing a positive experience for all of our customers. When we become aware of any practices that fall below the high standards we expect, we will always take steps to address this.” They added, “As such, we were concerned to hear about this incident. We are investigating, will take action as appropriate, and are also in contact with the customer.”
The spokesman added, “Most delivery drivers delivering food to customers’ doors are employed directly by independent restaurants. But we do engage with third-party courier companies, agency couriers, and self-employed independent contractors to deliver on behalf of restaurants that don’t have this service.”
