Mehul Choksi, the fugitive Indian diamantaire and multi-billion dollar scam suspect, said on Monday that he was kidnapped and assaulted cruelly by a group of eight to ten individuals posing as Antiguan police officers.
Choksi submitted an official complaint with the Antigua police, alleging that once they arrived in Dominica, his kidnappers told him he was being transferred there to see a high-ranking “Indian politician.” Choksi named Barbara Jarabica, Narender Singh, Gurmit Singh, and “unknown persons” as his kidnappers in his complaint. The fugitive, who is 62 years old, claimed he went to pick up the mystery woman, with whom he claims he has been friendly for a year, but was instead assaulted by a group of men.
He claimed the woman was involved in the kidnapping attempt.
“When I was being beaten up, Jabarica didn’t even try to help me or assist in any other way by calling for outside help; the way Jabarica conducted herself plainly speaks to her being an integral part of this entire kidnapping operation,” Choksi added.
