India reported 42,640 new Covid-19 cases, which is the lowest in 91 days, and 1,167 deaths, the lowest since April 14, in the last 24 hours as per the Union Health Ministry.
India’s total Covid-19 caseload stands at 29.97 crore and active caseload falls below 7 lakh.
A total of 81,839 new recoveries were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on June 22.
The total number of samples tested up to June 21 is 39,40,72,142, including 16,64,360 samples tested on Monday, the Indian Council of Medical Research said on June 22.
21 cases of the ‘Delta plus’ variant of COVID-19 have been found in Maharashtra and at least three cases of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta-plus variant have been found in Kerala so far.
Meanwhile, as of June 22 morning, total vaccine doses administered stand at 28,87,66,201, the Union health ministry said, adding that 86,16,373 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
