Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), announced on Tuesday that she and the whole Gupkar alliance will attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting on Thursday.
“Everyone who has been invited will attend. Our plans are well-known. We shall restate the Gupkar alliance’s position. “We would be advocates for Jammu and Kashmir’s aspirations,” she stated. As a key confidence-building gesture ahead of the assembly elections, the PDP is likely to press for statehood to be restored immediately in Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah will represent the National Conference in the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, according to sources within the party. Mehbooba ji or Tarigami could accompany Farooq Sahab. The final decision will be made within the next two days, according to a person familiar with the internal discussions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host an All Party Meeting on Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning in New Delhi. The meeting will be attended by several previous Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of J&K. Since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5th, 2019, the conference is being viewed as an outreach from New Delhi for the start of a new political process in J&K.
