According to news agency PTI, a Goa sessions court said on Wednesday that the verdict in the rape case against former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal will be declared on May 21.
A former colleague accused the former journalist of sexually harassing her in a five-star hotel elevator during a magazine event in Goa in November 2013. On November 30 of that year, he was arrested but later released on bail. The accusations have been refuted by him.
The verdict was supposed to be announced on April 27, but it was postponed until May 12. The hearing was postponed again on May 12 due to a staffing shortage caused by the coronavirus pandemic, according to the court.
