On December 22, BJP saw a major win in Jammu and Kashmir DDC election as BJP’s young leader Aijaz Hussain emerged the winner from the Khanmoh-II constituency in the Balhama area of Srinagar.
In the election, BJP was against all other parties of the region, especially against People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration.
Aijaz always had good command and influence over the people of the Khanmoh area of Srinagar. An engineer by profession, Aijaz was appointed as National Office bearer from Jammu and Kashmir as National Vice-President of Yuva Morcha in 2017.
With a keen interest in politics, he joined BJP and continued his party works for three years. In the DDC election, he contested from the Khanmoh constituency.
Senior BJP leader and Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had campaigned for the BJP candidate. Along with the campaign, Aijaz also had the support of the public, being a local Shia Muslim himself in the Shia dominated region.
As mentioned in his Twitter handle, he is also in charge of the West Bengal BJP Youth Wing (BJYM).
The election strategist, Prashant Kishore announced on Monday, December 21, that BJP shall struggle in the upcoming Bengal election and won’t be able to cross two-digit figures.
Aijaz responded to him via tweet “Mark words of a small Karykarta, BJP will cross 200+ in coming assembly elections in West Bengal. Prashant Kishore will have to keep bags ready. I will remind you again once elections are over and If possible will send you tickets also”.
This happened just a day before the results of the DDC election were declared. Winning the election, he not just gave a strong response to Prashant, but also marked his presence, proving the strategist wrong about the BJP’s influence among the masses.
